UK industrial production up 1% in February

Production output in the United Kingdom increased by 1% in February compared to the previous month, the Office for National Statistics revealed in its report on Tuesday.

According to the data, manufacturing and water supply and sewage contributed most to the rise as they climbed 1.3% and 1.4%, respectively. Electricity and gas production was up 0.5%, while production in mining and quarrying fell 2.1%.

In the three months to February, total production decreased 0.1% compared to the previous three-month period. On an annual basis, production in the three months to February was 3.3% lower than in the same period in 2020.
