UK PM optimistic England can reopen on June 21

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Tuesday that he is "very optimistic" about removing coronavirus restrictions in England on June 21, although he cautioned that " nothing can be guaranteed and it all depends on the way we continue to be prudent and continue to follow the guidance in each stage."

"But, genuinely, because of the immense possibilities now of the vaccination rollout, because science has given us this way of creating a whole shield around our population, we can really look at that 21 June date with some optimism," Johnson added. He stated that Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove will conduct a review of a possible rollout of "vaccine passports" that could allow people who have received the COVID-19 vaccine to travel internationally.
