UK police find Novichok bottle in Amesbury

United Kingdom authorities said on Friday that the bottle found in the house of Charlie Rowley in Amesbury contained the nerve agent Novichok. Rowley and his partner Dawn Sturgess were hospitalized in Salisbury earlier in July after being exposed to a chemical substance. Sturgess died on Sunday, while Rowley regained consciousness and was said to be in a "critical but stable condition."

The UK police are investigating if the incident is connected to the alleged poisoning of former spy Sergey Skripal and his daughter Yulia in March in Salisbury. Earlier this week, authorities stated they are not able to say whether the Novichok nerve agent which poisoned the Amesbury couple is linked to the same substance used in the Skripal attack.

The UK blamed Russia for the Skripal incident and expelled over 20 of the country's diplomats, which escalated into a diplomatic row between Russia and the UK and its allies.
