UK producer prices rise 2.4% in March

The headline rate of inflation for goods coming out of factories in the United Kingdom stood at 2.4% in the twelve months to March, the country's Office for National Statistics (ONS) said on Wednesday. On a monthly basis, producer prices were unchanged from February.

Upward contributions to output annual inflation were provided by all product group with the largest contribution coming from petroleum products, which were up 6.3% year on year.

Meanwhile, the annual input inflation rate for materials and fuels purchased by producers fell by 0.3 percentage points month on month and stood at 3.7%.
