UK: Russia launched 71 Iranian drones in March
The British defense ministry on Sunday said it accessed that Russia in March launched at least 71 Iranian-made Shahed drones against targets across Ukraine.
These attacks followed a two-week pause in drone strikes in late February of 2023. Additionally, it appears that Russia is launching unmanned aerial vehicles from two axes, Russia's Krasnodar Krai in the east and Bryansk Oblast in the northeast. "This allows Russia flexibility to target a broad sector of Ukraine and decreases flying time to targets in the north of Ukraine," the ministry claimed, noting that it is also likely that these attacks are intended to stretch Ukrainian air defenses, forcing the country to defend against multiple directions of attack.
