UK's Johnson apologizes for Downing Street staff behavior

United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson apologized on Wednesday for the behavior of his staff, saying he was "furious" about the video seemingly showing Number 10 staff making fun of coronavirus restrictions.

Johnson asserted that the staff will face disciplinary action if necessary, as he set his cabinet secretary to conduct an investigation into the alleged Christmas party that occurred last year and if COVID rules were broken at the time.

Responding to this, Labor Leader Sir Keir Starmer stated that Johnson "doesn't understand the damage done to his credibility," questioning the head of state's "moral authority" to ask the public to stick to rules. Meanwhile, Scottish National Party leader in Westminster Ian Blackford called for Johnson's resignation in light of the scandal.
