UK: Tanks could arrive in Ukraine by summer
British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace revealed on Monday that fourteen British Challenger 2 tanks could arrive on Ukraine's front lines before the summer, hinting that it could be in May or "closer to Easter."
"Obviously, for security reasons, I can't give an exact timeline," the defense secretary said before the parliament.
Over the weekend, Ukrainian tank crews arrived in the United Kingdom to receive the necessary training on how to operate Challenger 2. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak asserted that the country "led the world" in supporting Kiev. At the same time, Tobias Ellwood, the chairman of the UK defense committee, urged the government to "directly" confront Russia in the ongoing war in Ukraine.
