UK to scrap travel red list, hotel quarantine

The British government is looking to cancel the remaining travel red list and hotel quarantine for those arriving from abroad due to the declining risk of imported active COVID-19 cases, The Telegraph reported on Wednesday citing sources familiar with the matter.

United Kingdom ministers will consider the decision on Thursday as there are 7 countries left on the red list, delegates from which are supposed to attend the COP26 climate summit. Among alternatives to the scrapped measures are vaccination requirements.

Additionally, it is expected that travellers will be asked to self-isolate at home for 10 days upon arrival to the UK, regardless of their vaccination status. The rule, however, might not be implemented until the New Year.
