Ukraine: 3 China oil firms added to war sponsors' list
Ukraine's government added on Tuesday three Chinese oil and natural gas companies to the list of international war sponsors over still existing links to the Russian industry and the payment of taxes that it is considered as a "replenishment of the aggressor state's resource base."
The profiles of the China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) and the state-owned China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC Group), and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) were included on the list explaining that their business relations with Russian companies like Novatek, PJSC Rosneft Oil Company and Sibur are helping to increase Russia's income and therefore its defense budget to continue the conflict against Ukraine.
"[…] By suspending the development of the oil and gas industry, the Russian economy will lose a significant portion of its income, thus reducing the financing of war crimes," the sanction against CNPC noted.
