Ukraine reconstruction to cost $411B, World Bank says

The recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine are expected to cost $411 billion, the World Bank, the United Nations, the European Commission, and the Ukrainian government stated in a joint study published on Wednesday.

About 22% of the total damage done is to transport, followed by housing at 17%, energy at 11%, and agriculture at 7%. The World Bank stressed that, in comparison to the observations dated June 2022, the energy sector suffered a higher rise in damages done to it. The parties urged the international community to invest in Ukraine as, according to World Bank Europe and Central Asia head Anna Bjerde, it is an "investment in both the country and the global economy."

In September 2022, the same study found the reconstruction of Ukraine will cost $349 billion.
