Ukraine shuts power in several regions due to bad weather
Ukraine's power grid operator said on Tuesday that it carried out electricity shutdowns in eight regions across the country due to bad weather conditions.
"A difficult situation with electricity supply remains in the regions along the front line where the enemy constantly damages the networks with artillery fire ... In particular, distribution system operators' networks in the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions were damaged yesterday due to Russian shelling," Ukrenergo also noted in its statement.
About 40% of the national energy system has been damaged following continuous artillery fire from Russia, with officials working to restore the power as Ukraine expects further weather deterioration throughout the week.
