Uncertain of coronavirus impact - Fed's Kaplan

Head of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank Robert Kaplan stated on Tuesday the outlook for the United States economic growth in 2020 remains positive but ultimately uncertain due to the coronavirus outbreak.

"Of course, this outlook is clouded by the impact of the coronavirus originating in Wuhan, China," the official said, adding it was "still too soon to predict with confidence the ultimate impact" on the economy.

In addition, Kaplan warned Boeing Co.'s troubles may also have an impact on the economy, while the end of General Motors Co.'s strike is expected to boost first-half growth.
