US-Australia deal not something Trump would do - Panetta

The security cooperation deal between the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia is not something that would happen under the Trump administration, former US Secretary of Defense, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, and White House Chief of Staff during the Clinton administration Leon Panetta (pictured) stated in an interview aired on Sunday.

"I am not sure that [former US] President [Donald] Trump had the ability to develop the kind of partnerships that the Biden administration developed in this case," he said to Sky News.

France previously described the US-Australia submarine procurement arrangement as "unacceptable behavior," and recalled its ambassadors to the two countries.
