US business inventories down 0.2% in April

Inventories in the manufacturing and trade sectors in the United States fell 0.2% month-on-month to $2,024.0 billion in April, the Census Bureau reported on Tuesday. Per annum, the figure was up 1.3%

Meanwhile, the adjusted combined value of trade sales and manufacturers' shipments for the same month, was seen at t $1,621.1 billion, marking a 0.6% increase on a monthly basis and a 40% rise year-on-year.

The ratio between business inventories and sales was 1.25. Last year in April, the ratio was 1.73.
