US-China face-to-face talks not far away - report

Representatives of the United States and China will meet soon in person to discuss the countries' trade deal, Chinese Global Times reported on Friday.

The two sides are ready to organize the meeting as a gesture of "good will," Global Times Editor-in-Chief Hu Xijin noted.

On Thursday, US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said that Washington and Beijing are trying to return to a "path of progress" on the trade deal. At the time, Mnuchin said an in-person meeting is possible if the next phone call goes well.
