US, China nearing trade deal - report

Despite resolving most of the issues standing in the way of them signing a trade deal, the United States and China still have to reach an agreement on the enforcement mechanism and the tariffs put in place on Chinese imports, the Financial Times reported citing people close to the matter.

"Ninety percent of the deal is done, but the last ten percent is the hardest part, it’s the trickiest part and it will require trade-offs on both sides," Myron Brilliant, an official for US Chamber of Commerce said, claiming the negotiations were in "the end-game stage."

Earlier, President Donald Trump said Washington will not sign a trade deal with Beijing unless it's "great" ahead of the meeting between China's and US representatives.
