US-China trade deal depends on Trump-Xi meeting - WH

The White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders told Fox News on Wednesday that a final deal that would resolve the months-long trade dispute between the United States and China depends on the outcome of a potential meeting between the presidents of the two countries, Donald Trump and Xi Jinping. Regarding Trump's earlier comment about the possible extension of the March 1 deadline for the trade truce with China, Sanders said that the president is still weighing different possibilities.

Turning to the border security dispute, Sanders said that the White House is looking at every possible option to receive full funding needed to build a wall on the Mexican border. The press secretary added that Trump has a range of alternative options to build the wall apart from the $1.4 billion allocated in the latest spending bill to prevent a government shutdown. According to earlier reports, Trump decided to support the tentative agreement reached by the Republican and Democratic lawmakers despite saying that he is "not happy" about it.
