US closes higher after jobs, consumer data

Major stock indexes in the United States ended Friday's session in green territory as investors digested the latest reports on nonfarm employment and consumer confidence. Additionally, Fitch Ratings Inc. projected the world's economic growth to fall to 2.1%, while the US economy is expected to grow 1.2% in 2024, 0.9 percentage points more than anticipated in the previous Fitch's outlook.

The Dow Jones closed 0.36% or 130 points higher, with Boeing climbing 3.11%. The Nasdaq 100 gained 0.39%, as Warner Bros Discovery soared 6.01%. The S&P 500 surged 0.41%, while Paramount Global skyrocketed 12.11%.

The euro fell 0.28% against the dollar at 3:58 pm ET, going for $1.07650.
