US closes lower, Dow, Nasdaq down by over 400 points

Stock markets in the United States closed lower on Friday after big technological companies, such as Neftlix Inc., suffered major losses during the session, having suffered a letdown in the number of subscribers in the previous fiscal quarter. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden accused China of "doing everything it can to take over the global market." Also, Texas Federal District Court blocked Biden's order that seeks mandatory vaccination against COVID-19 of all federal government workers.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average sank by 1.30% or 449 points at the close after falling by 500 points at one point, with The Walt Disney Company plummeting by 6.94%. The Nasdaq 100 declined by 2.75% or 408 points. The S&P 500 dropped by 1.95%. Netflix was the worst performer at both of the latter two indexes, plunging by 21.79%.

The euro gained 0.35% to the dollar at 3:58 pm ET to sell for $1.13436.
