US consumer prices grew 1.5% in March

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the United States rose 1.5% annually in March, recording a smaller increase compared to the 2.3% rise in February, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics said on Friday.

At the same time, the report showed that prices on a monthly basis dropped 0.4% compared to February, marking the largest monthly decline since January 2015.

Excluding the volatile food and energy sectors prices inched down 0.1% in March, compared to the prior month, while on a yearly basis CPI was up 2.1%
