US crude inventories jump 4.1 million barrels - report

Crude stockpiles in the United States unexpectedly increased by 4.12 million barrels in the week ending September 24, private data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) reportedly showed on Tuesday.

Oil reserves in Cushing Oklahoma rose by 359,000 barrels in the period. Meanwhile, gasoline stockpiles in the US reportedly jumped by 3.5 million barrels during the same week, while the country's distillate reserves advanced by 2.5 million barrels.

WTI for settlements in November slid 0.83% to sell for $74.82 per barrel at 4:24 pm ET, while Brent for November deliveries lost 1.05% a minute later, going for $78.59 per barrel.
