US crude stockpiles add 0.45M barrels - EIA

Crude oil stockpiles in the United States increased by 452,000 barrels to 443.4 million barrels in the week ending February 21, missing the estimates that expected larger growth, the Energy Information Administration said in its report on Thursday. In the week ending February 14, crude oil inventories in the US climbed by 414,000 barrels.

Meanwhile, crude oil imports averaged 6.2 million barrels per day last week, a decrease of 330,000 barrels per day from the previous week. Gasoline production rose to an average of 9.8 million barrels per day.

The crude oil refinery inputs averaged 16 million barrels per day last week, slipping 202,000 barrels week-over-week as refineries operated at 87.9% of their capacity. Total motor gasoline imports stood at 405,000 b/pd while distillate fuel imports were at 177,000 b/pd.
