US durable goods up 0.2% in December
New orders for manufactured durable goods in the United States in December increased 0.2% compared to the month before, bringing the total figure to $245.3 billion, according to a report by the US Census Bureau released on Wednesday. The figure came in below analysts' expectations.
Excluding transportation, new orders rose 0.7% month on month, while excluding defense, they climbed 0.5%.
Meanwhile, shipments of manufactured durable goods rose by 1.4% to $253.8 billion in December, while unfilled orders for manufactured durable goods fell 0.3% to $1,070.4 billion.
