US extends premarket gains, Nasdaq up by 100 pts
Equities in the United States extended gains in the premarket on Thursday following the newest preliminary report on the country's gross domestic product (GDP) and another weekly update on initial jobless claims. Both came in better than expected. The markets also reacted to the latest earnings reports, particularly from Tesla Inc., with its stock going up by more than 8% in the premarket.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced by 0.25% at 8:44 am ET. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 rose by 1.00% or 118 points. The S&P 500 grew by 0.52%.
The euro lost 0.20% at 8:45 am ET to sell for $1.08942.
