US factory orders up 1.5% in June

New orders for manufactured goods in the United States stood at $506 billion in June, representing an increase of 1.5% on a monthly basis, the US Census Bureau announced on Tuesday.

Shipments were 1.6% higher month-on-month to reach $499 billion, while unfilled orders grew 1% to $1.22 trillion.

Inventories amounted to $740.7 billion following a 1% rise in June. The inventories-to-shipments ratio was 1.48, down from 1.49 documented in May.
