US higher in premarket ahead of earnings

Major stocks in the United States traded higher in the premarket on Tuesday in anticipation of the release of corporate earnings data by US companies including Johnson & Johnson, Halliburton, Procter & Gamble, Philip Morris, Netflix and United Airlines. Notably, Congress continued the debt limit conversation, grappling with the possibility of the climate component being excluded from the reconciliation bill.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.19% at 4:40 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 increased by 0.23% at the same time. The S&P 500 gained 0.25% a minute later.

The euro gained 0.35% against the dollar at 4:29 am ET, selling for $1.16502, with the pound increasing by 0.42% to change hands for $1.37838 at the same time.
