US House vote to override Biden's first veto fails
United States House of Representatives failed to override President Joe Biden's first veto on Thursday. Earlier this week, Biden blocked a bill to reverse the regulation on environmental, social and governance guidelines for retirement funds.
House representatives voted 219 to 200 to overturn the veto, failing to reach the necessary two-thirds majority. All Republicans, who hold a slim majority in the House, voted in favor, as well as a single Democratic lawmaker.
