US housing starts drop 0.2% in April
Housing starts in the United States fell by 0.2% in April compared to March and stood at 1,724,000, according to a report from the US Census Bureau on Wednesday. On a yearly basis, housing starts jumped 14.6%.
Housing completions were at an annual rate of 1,295,000, dropping 5.1% from March and 8.6% compared to April 2021. Meanwhile, building permits came to 1,819,000, 3.2% down compared to March and 3.1% above the April 2021 figure.
