US inital jobless claims up 14,000 to 225,000

Initial jobless claims in the United States for the week ending November 9 was 225,000 that represents an increase of 14,000 from the previous week's unrevised level of 211,000, the US Department of Labor reported on Thursday. The four-week moving average was 217,000, an increase of 1,750 compared to the previous week's unrevised average of 215,220.

The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate for the week ending November 2 was 1.2%, which was unchanged from the previous week. The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the same week was 1,683,000, that represents a decline of 10,000 from the previous week's revised level. The four-week moving average was 1,687,750 that is also unchanged from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 1,000 from 1,686,750 to 1,687,750.
