US job openings down to 10.3 million in October

Job openings in the United States decreased in October when compared to the previous month to stand at 10.3 million, down by 353,000, the country's Bureau of Labor Statistics said in a report on Wednesday.

The Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) revealed that the number of hires changed slightly at 6.0 million, while the rate of hires saw a small modification at 3.9%.

For the same month of October, the number of total separations varied little, standing at 5.7 million, with the rate unchanged at 3,7%. The quits rate was also untouched at 2.6%, while the layoffs and discharges rate changed slightly to stand at 0.9%.
