US-led 2017 Raqqa bombing killed 1,600 civilians - report

At least 1,600 civilians were killed in the bombings of Raqqa from June to October 2017, a report of Amnesty International and the Airwars published on Thursday showed.

Amnesty International commented that targeting was "inaccurate" and strikes were "indiscriminate."

Raqqa was the de facto capital city of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) until October 2017 when it was liberated by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) with the help of airstrikes from the US-lead coalition.
