US lower premarket amid inflation woes

Major stock indices in the United States were down in the premarket on Friday as investors worried about the impact of anti-inflationary measures on economic growth. The performance of US stocks in the first half of the year has been the worst since 1970.

Traders will receive updates on the US manufacturing sector, as well as a monthly change in the country's construction spending later today.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down by 192 points or 0.63% at 4:11 am ET. At the same time, Nasdaq 100 and S&P dropped by 0.88% and 0.78% respectively. The euro was 0.36% lower against the dollar, selling at $1.04465 at 4:12 am ET.
