US markets open lower as COVID shot is made available to all adults

Major United States stock markets opened lower on Monday as the coronavirus vaccines became available to all adults in the US. The earnings season continued, with the Coca-Cola Co. announcing a 5% rise in revenue, and IBM Corp. and United Airlines Inc. to post their reports later in the day.

The Dow Jones started the session falling 0.15%. Boeing Co. led the losses with 1.41%. The S&P 500 was down 0.19%, with the American Airlines Group dropping 1.95%. The Nasdaq 100 declined by 0.52% at 9:31 am ET as Peloton Interactive plummeted 5.02%.

The euro traded 0.39% higher against the dollar, selling for 1.20285 at 9:33 am ET.
