US open for dialogue with North Korea - WH

White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Monday that the United States remains open for dialogue with North Korea.

"So you know our position has not changed when it comes to North Korea. We remain prepared to engage and (sit) with the DPRK toward our objective of complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula," Jean-Pierre stressed during her flight en route to Boise, Idaho.

"Our policy calls for a calibrated, practical approach that is open to and will explore diplomacy with DPRK to make practical progress that increases the security of the United States, our allies, our deployed forces," she concluded.

The remarks come after Pyongyang conducted test launches of its new long-range cruise missile over the weekend.
