US plunges premarket ahead of jobs, PMI data

Stock futures in the United States posted losses ahead of Wednesday's opening bell following a major rally prompted by easing inflation pressures and the weakening job openings data released yesterday.

As investors braced for the final US business activity data for September, estimates suggested mostly unchanged readings versus the previous update. In business news, Elon Musk's pending acquisition of Twitter Inc. remained in market focus.

The Dow Jones sank 0.80% or 240 points at 4:37 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 lost 0.77% and the S&P 500 fell by 0.78%. The euro declined 0.47% against the dollar to sell for 0.99400.
