US producer prices up 0.4% in October

The Producer Price Index (PPI) for final demand in the United States rose 0.4% on a seasonally adjusted basis in October compared to September, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on Thursday. On an unadjusted basis, producer prices increased 1.1% for the year ending in October 2019.

The increase in the final demand index was led by a 0.7% rise in prices for final demand goods, while the index for final demand services moved down up 0.1%.

Prices for final demand excluding foods, energy, and trade services gained 0.1% from the previous month and added 1.5% year-on-year.
