US producer prices up by 0.8% in February

The Producer Price Index (PPI) in the United States increased by 0.8% in February on a seasonally adjusted basis in comparison to January, according to a US Bureau of Labor Statistics report released on Tuesday. On an unadjusted basis, producer prices rose by 10% for the 12 months ended in February.

Most of the increase in the final demand index was attributed to a 2.4% rise in prices for final demand goods. The index for final demand services remained unchanged.

Prices for final demand excluding foods, energy, and trade were 0.2% up in February compared to the previous month, while adding 6.6% year-on-year.
