US rises premarket after debt ceiling deal reached
Stock indexes in the United States were up in the premarket trade on Tuesday following the holiday weekend. Investors were relieved by the news that the White House reached a deal with the Republican leadership on raising the debt ceiling and avoiding default. The legislation should be up for a vote in the House on Wednesday. In data, reports on home prices and consumer confidence will be released later in the day.
The Dow Jones gained 0.21% at 4:25 am ET, the Nasdaq 100 improved by 0.97% and the S&P 500 grew by 0.48%.
The euro traded 0.07% lower compared to the dollar at 4:26 am ET and sold for 1.07017.
