US Senate passes Iran War Powers resolution

United States Senate passed the Iran War Powers resolution on Thursday, limiting President Donald Trump’s ability to wage war against the Middle Eastern country, as eight Republicans joined Democrats' initiative.

The resolution, if it doesn't get vetoed by Trump, will oblige him to remove US forces that were to conduct operations against Iran unless Congress declares war or passes a specific authorization of using such military actions.

Trump previously condemned the voting, stating that "it is very important for the country’s security that the US Senate doesn't vote for the Iran War Powers Resolution," adding that the state is "doing very well with Iran and this is not the time to show weakness."
