US shares in the green premarket on China data

Shares on Wall Street were in the green on Wednesday morning ahead of earnings reports by Morgan Stanley and US Bancorp, as well as PepsiCo, due for release before the bell.

The sentiment was brightened by higher-than-expected GDP growth in China, together with surging industrial production and retail sales in March, subduing fears of a global slowdown.

Trade balance figures for the United States will also be in the focus of investors before markets open, with wholesale inventories coming shortly after.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.05% while the S&P 500 added 0.16% in premarket trade at 4:30 am ET. The Nasdaq 100 climbed 0.26% at the same time.

The euro was up by 0.35% against the dollar to go for $1.13203.
