US shares mostly lower in premarket trading

Shares on Wall Street were mostly lower during premarket trading on Friday as economic stimulus talks in Washington showed no signs of progress.

Democrats and the White House appeared unable to reach a compromise on the next relief package as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the bill must be increased by $1 trillion in order for talks to resume. In economic data, investors awaited industrial production and retail sales figures.

The Dow Jones lost 148 points at 4:15 am ET, while the S&P 500 fell 0.40%. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 was flat. The euro declined 0.11% against the dollar at 4:20 am ET, buying 1.17988.
