US shares recover from tumble, end session higher

Shares on the major stock market indexes in the United States ended the session in the green on Monday, as the sharp mid-session losses pared across the board, and the major benchmarks moved into the positive territory.

The investors were still focused on the next Federal Reserve's monetary policy decision, as well as on rising tensions between Washington and Russia. According to Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby, the US has readied some 8,500 troops for deployment to Europe should the need arise.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 0.29% as the session ended. Home Depot flew 4.21% as the index's top performer. The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.49% at the close with Datadog surging 8.38%. At the same time, the S&P 500 increased by 0.27% as Gap skyrocketed 7.94%. The euro declined 0.17% versus the dollar, selling for 1.13219% at 3:59 pm ET.
