US stocks higher premarket on trade deal optimism

Wall Street continued to trade higher in premarket on Wednesday as market watchers echoed US President Donald Trump's statement that he may consider postponing the March 1 deadline in US-China trade talks. Meanwhile, his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping said he would meet the US representatives on Friday. Furthermore, investors digested yesterday's tentative deal thanks to which another government shutdown will be avoided. On the data front, traders are expecting the latest US consumer price index figures.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.32% at 8:04 am ET, the Nasdaq 100 rose 0.41%, while the S&P 500 climbed 0.27% at the same time. The euro declined 0.24% against the US dollar, to go for 1.1305 at 8:05 am ET.
