US stocks higher premarket with trade deal in sight

Stocks on Wall Street increased in premarket trade on Friday after it was reported a day earlier that United States trade officials reached a trade deal in principle with China, pending signing by US President Donald Trump. Washington offered to reduce tariffs on $360 billion worth of Chinese imports by half and eliminate tariffs that were due to be implemented on December 15.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.52%, increasing almost 150 points, the S&P 500 advanced 0.47%, while the Nasdaq 100 surged 0.60%, all at 6:01 am ET.

The euro gained 0.43% to the dollar, trading at 1.11796 at 6:02 am ET.
