US to stop refueling Saudi-coalition planes

United States will stop refueling Saudi-led coalition aircraft in Yemen, the Washington Post reported.

Saudi Arabia has been facing increased criticism for its conduct in the Yemen war, as well as the recent death of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Monitoring groups accuse Riyadh and its allies of killing thousands of civilians as well as triggering a humanitarian crisis in the country. According to the organization Save the Children, more than 50,000 children have died of famine caused by the war.

The Trump administration is expected to announce the decision in the upcoming days. Meanwhile, the Saudi Press Agency reported the Riyadh has "requested cessation of inflight refueling" citing the Saudi-coalition's recent increase in capability to independently conduct the refueling by itself.
