US trade deficit jumps 17.8% to $125.3B in March

The goods trade deficit in the United States grew by 17.8% in March to $125.3 billion, according to a preliminary report by the US Census Bureau on Wednesday. Exports of goods for March were $169.3 billion, $11.4 billion more than February exports. Imports of goods for March were $294.6 billion, $30.3 billion more than February imports.

Wholesale inventories increased by 2.3% on a monthly basis to $837.7 billion, or by 21.5% year-on-year. Retail inventories stood at $684.3 billion in March, adding 2% from February and 11% annually.
