US up premarket with CPI, elections ahead this week

Wall Street was higher in the premarket on Monday ahead of the midterm elections on November 8, with the Democratic Party hoping to maintain its majority in Congress. On November 10, traders will monitor the next consumer prices report that will show if the Federal Reserve's interest rate hikes had had any impact on the inflation rate in October. Apple said earlier today that China's coronavirus policies will affect iPhone production in the Asian country.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average index moved up 0.36%, the Nasdaq 100 climbed 0.30% and the S&P 500 increased by 0.33% at 4:19 am ET.

The euro was 0.43% higher than the US dollar, changing hands for 1.00008 a minute later.
