US wholesale inventories up 1.8% in June

Wholesale inventories in the United States were up 1.8% in June compared to the previous month's revised level, standing at $895.4 billion, the US Census Bureau reported on Wednesday. The figure represents a 25.5% increase on an annual basis.

Meanwhile, June 2022 sales of merchant wholesalers adjusted for seasonal variations and trading-day differences but not for price changes were 1.8% higher from the revised May level at $709.6 billion and rose by 20.4% year-on-year.

The ratio between inventories and sales for merchant wholesalers was 1.26 in June, up from the same month a year ago when it stood at 1.21.
