US wholesale inventories up by 0.4% in September

Wholesale inventories in the United States for September, adjusted for seasonal variations but not for price changes, increased by 0.4% to $644.6 billion compared to the previous month, the US Census Bureau reported on Friday. On an annual basis, the figure increased 5.2% compared to September 2017.

As for the sales figure, it stood at $511.2 billion, increasing 0.2% on a monthly basis and 7.8% year over year in September. The ratio between inventories and sales in September was 1.26. Compared to September 2017, the ratio was 1.29.
