US won't remove tariffs on Japanese auto parts - report

The United States is not planning to remove import tariffs on car parts made in Japan as a part of the expected trade agreement, Japanese news agency Kyodo reported on Friday.

At the G7 summit in August, US President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe agreed on a trade deal "in principle." It is expected to be signed during the United Nations General Assembly on September 25. The two countries have reportedly agreed that digital products will not be subjected to tariffs.
